Benchtops Direct evolved after Franklin Laminates which was started by Graeme Smith back in 1985. Graeme was instrumental to the development of Laminate benchtop fabrication in New Zealand and worked with the Joinery Industry Training Organisation to establish the National Qualification for trainees in the industry. Over the years, our staff have perfected this trade and we also offer apprenticeship training.

Now, as Benchtops Direct, we offer benchtops in Laminate, Engineered Stone, and Acrylic.

In June 2017, Greame retired and Michael Nasa bought the business. Keeping all the staff, we are still focused on providing our customers with best value benchtops with personal service.
